Mizgier, Kamil, Dr.

Short Bio

Kamil Mizgier was a Senior Researcher at ETH Zurich’s Chair of Logistics Management. He received his Master degree in Applied Physics from the Warsaw University of Technology. As an undergraduate he also spent six months abroad at the Faculty of Physics at the University of Vienna, Austria. As part of his doctoral studies, he was on a research stay at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. He completed his PhD at the ETH Zurich's Chair of Logistics Management with a thesis entitled "Understanding Risk Exposure and Operational Disruptions in Supply Chain Networks: Methodologies and Empirical Evidence."

He gained professional experience through several internships including Ernst & Young Business Advisory in Warsaw, Poland and UBS in Zurich, Switzerland. He also worked as a business analyst at the data mining department of one of the leading corporate groups offering cashless payment solutions in Switzerland. Subsequent to his PhD, he worked as a Risk Modeling and Analytics Specialist within Enterprise-wide Risk Control and Methodology at UBS.

His research interests include enterprise-wide risk management with a focus on supply chain networks, multiobjective resource allocation, data-driven knowledge discovery and analytics. He is an ad-hoc reviewer for the European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research and other journals.
